Matthias Stom

Matthias Stom, born around 1600 and died after 1652, was a Dutch Golden Age painter known for his religious and genre scenes. He was considered one of the masters of Utrecht Caravaggism and spent most of his artistic life in Italy. Stom was influenced by Caravaggio and his followers, utilizing their mastery of chiaroscuro.
