Jacopo Amigoni, born around 1682 in Venice and died in September 1752 in Madrid, was an Italian painter of the late-Baroque or Rococo period. Amigoni began his career in Venice but traveled extensively throughout Europe, where his sumptuous portraits were highly sought after. He became court painter to Ferdinand VI of Spain and director of the Royal Academy of Saint Fernando.
