Arthur Bowen Davies (1862-1928) was an American painter and one of the principal organizers of the 1913 Armory Show in New York. He was born in Utica, New York, and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York. Davies was known for his mystical and mysterious paintings, which hearken back to 19th-century romanticism. He was also an accomplished graphic artist and sculptor. Davies passed away while on a trip to Florence with his wife in 1928.
