Joseph Légaré (March 10, 1795 – June 21, 1855) was a painter and glazier, artist, seigneur and political figure in Lower Canada. He was an important figure in Quebec City during the early nineteenth century, painting nearly 200 works with subject matter ranging from Quebec's landscapes and important figures to current events and history paintings.
